The truth is, we'd like it to be more or less whatever you want it to be, within reason of course, within the constraints of what are sometimes weird, wonderful and often contradictory laws... We run an English and Spanish Conversation Lounge on mainly Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings so this is a great place for foreigners and Japanese to meet.

　

Kafe Policy On speaking Japanese: We are taking a very strict approach to the use of Japanese in the Kafe. In short, we have decided that during the evenings from Sunday through Thursday, the speaking of Japanese is out, simply not on i.e. forbidden, taboo, disallowed, no can do, interdit, prohibido,verboten, proibito, kinjisareta..... totally, absolutely and utterly zen zen dame dekinai........ By doing so, we hope to encourage nay force Japanese individuals to get used to conversing in a foreign language and to enjoy it. On the smoking front there is good news and bad news for those who light and those who don't: Please note: If you are a non-smoker you will be happy to know that except for a small section for smokers, the entire Kafe is a designated smoke-free zone. If you are a smoker you will be happy to know that there is a section specially reserved for you. As a smoker (wanting to quit!!) I might join you. During lunch time the entire cafe will be smoke free.
